Allergy Medication

Nasal Allergy Medications

As we have told you before, allergies are caused by several factors. This time around we are going to focus on allergies which are due to the environment, one of which is nasal allergy. Nasal allergy results from inhaled substance. It may be dust, smoke, smog, mold, pollen, dust mites, perfume scents, and more. Since the symptoms of nasal allergies are somewhat similar to the common cold, sometimes it is hard to tell if you are already suffering from a reaction. However, if you have a cold all year round, there is no doubt about it. You have a nasal allergy.

When you have a nasal allergy, there are two allergy medications that you have to keep within reach namely antihistamine and decongestant. Many researches proved that these allergy medications work best for nasal allergies. Antihistamines help reduce the swelling of nasal cavities while decongestants help control the chemicals released by the immune system when exposed to the substance.

Antihistamines and decongestants are already curative. For preventive measures, increase your intake of Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Beta Carotene, Glucosamine, and Quercitin. Vitamin C improves the immune system. The recommended intake is 1,000 to 5,000 mg every day. Vitamin E saves lung tissues from inhaled pollutants. Beta Carotene protects the mouth’s and nose’s mucus membrane. Lastly, Quercitin prevents the release of histamines. If you take 500 mg of Quercitin twice every day, you lower your chances of nasal allergy.
